Seit Januar 2024 ist das Café International neu aufgestellt. Die Treffen finden alle 4 Wochen samstags von 15 bis 17 Uhr statt. Das Mitarbeiterteam und etliche Helfer aus der Gemeinde und darüber hinaus lädt Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund ein eine wertvolle Zeit miteinander zu verbringen, leckere Speisen zu genießen und manche kurzweiligen Spiel- und Bastelangebote zu nutzen.
Man kann sich auch außen und innen sportlich betätigen. Dafür stehen Kicker, Tischtennisplatten, Fußballtore und auch ein Sandkasten sowie Reifenschaukel zur Verfügung.
Das Café International wird von einem ehrenamtlichen Team konfessionsübergreifend gestaltet und ist aus Spenden finanziert.
Café International offers the opportunity for people new to Langenfeld as well as local citizens to meet every four weeks.
Since 2015, many refugees, foreigners and people who have been living in Langenfeld for a long time come to meet in the open atmosphere of the church’s buildings and grounds in Poststraße 33. They can get to know each other, find common interests, support each other and plan communal activities. They share drinks, fingerfood and cake.
Children, youngsters and grown ups also have the opportunity for some games and sports. There is a table football, table tennis, football goals, sandpit and a little play ground.
The Café is planned and run by a group of volunteers from many churches and town representatives, and is financed by donations.
